The feeling in Team VEIDEC is still good after the fifth race in the FIM/UEM Championship at Gardemoen in Norway, although none of the drivers made it to the finals. One reason to that could have been the fact that both young Karl Lyren and Kenneth Vik met already in the first round in Norway.

After the disappointing weekend at Mantorp when the rain spoiled the finals team VEIDEC was really looking forward to the fifth race in the Pro Stock-championship in Norway. Young driver Karl Lyren was once again showed good skills by driving the strip in 07,34 seconds in the qualifying. That rendered him the seventh best time in the field, just a notch faster than teammate Kenneth Vik. The both VEIDEC-riders met in the first round and strange enough they produced the exact same time, 07,372 seconds. Lyren won the battle between both teammates by having a faster reaction time. In the second round Lyren met the experienced Jesper Thiel who is known for his good reactions.
- I knew I had to take a chance with him. Unfortunately I was a little too eager and released the clutch before the lights and got disqualified. Still I am very pleased with my performance. Before this season I could not have dreamt of driving so fast in my first year, Karl Lyren says.
Now the mechanics give his Pro Stock-engine a total service. Everything has to work out perfectly in the finals at Santa Pod in early September. Karl himself prepare by running, doing some work out and by driving some motocross at home.
