Team VEIDEC is this weekend testing at the VEIDEC Raceway in Malmö. The aim is to get some more experience for the rookie driver Karl Lyrén who has only done 11 runs on his Pro Stock Bike.
The 22-year old Karl Lyrén has taken everybody by surprise this season. Although he is a rookie in the team and also a rookie in the Pro Stock-series he has presented some excellent times. In Santa Pod for example he did his personal best time so far by driving the quarter of a mile in 7,48 seconds. Even an experienced driver could be satisfied with such a run.
– I´m more than satisfied with my results at Santa Pod. Everything was working as it should and I did what I was supposed to do, Karls says.
The training session at VEIDEC Raceway this weekend is very important for the young driver. So far this season Karl has only done 11 runs on his Pro Stock bike. That’s why it is so impressive that Karl has produced so good results this season. The Team VEIDEC hopes that they can do five or six runs during the weekend. That requires good weather and that the bike does not get any technical problems.
– About 80 percent of what a driver does in a race should come automatically. Because Karl has not yet the routine it is important for him and the team that he can get as many runs as possible. But so far we are very proud of his performance this season, says team manager Roger Lyrén .
Over 20 teams take part in the test runs on VEIDEC Raceway this weekend.
