The rookie in the PSB-team wants more track-time.

2010-05-11

Team VEIDEC has a good mix of drivers this year. Both experience and youth is represented in the three drivers. The rookie, Karl Lyrén who is driving his first season in the Pro Stock-series is looking forward to next weekend when he drives at the Lindesberg track in Sweden.

After a good first race weekend in the European Championship in Hungary Karl Lyrén is eager to sit on his Pro Stock Suzuki again. Although there is a National competition in Lindesberg the Team VEIDEC driver is not taking part in it. He is at the track only to get some quality training on his 330 horsepower Suzuki.

- Everything is new for me this season. Especially with the bike that is so fast and explosive compared to the one I have been racing earlier, Karl says.

The last two seasons 22-year old Karl raced in the Swedish Super Gas Bike-series. He was runner up last season but the step up to the Pro Stock-series is still a big one. He has built the engine himself last winter with a little help from his father and team manager Roger Lyrén.

- It is very important for me to know how everything works. Because I have built the engine I have quite a good feeling of how the bike is behaving, Karl explains.

As a rookie driver he hopes he will have time to make at least five or six starts the next weekend in Lindesberg. He will need all the experience he can get for this tough season.
