Today Team VEIDEC starts the long journey to Hungary. It is time for the first tests of the bikes and the first race of the season in the Pro Stock-championship. And as usual the last preparations took place just hours before the team-bus started the long journey.
For Anders Abrahamsson this is his 18th season in dragracing. He won the European Championship in 2006 but he is hungry for more. His mechanics have been working with his Suzuki TL until the very last moment, tuning and fixing the engine.
– I don`t know why but it´s the same story every year. Everything gets ready just hours before it is time to get the gear in to the team-bus, Anders Abrahamsson says.
In Team VEIDEC, Anders has this year the opportunity not only to drive all the six championship races but also race for the victory in the championship. His Suzuki TL has a totally new engine for this season. Or to be more precise, the bike has 3 different engines. They are used depending on the track. The first race of this season is a tricky one for Anders and Team VEIDEC.
– We have never raced in Kunmadaras before. It is a concrete track and that can cause some trouble with the traction, he says.
The first indications on how the Suzuki TL will work on the concrete track Team VEIDEC gets after the first testing session on Thursday.
