Preparations in the Pro Stock Bike (PSB) team

2010-04-22

The start of the 2010 Pro Stock-season is getting nearer. For Team VEIDEC it has meant a lot of work the last weeks. The early season starting in Hungary next weekend has not made the task easier.

Team VEIDEC feels confident although time is as always a problem. The team has been building and tuning the engines during the winter. But yet the Suzuki-bikes have not run one yard.
– Because of the early start of the season we have not had time to test the bikes. Usually we spend a week in Norway testing before the premiere. This year we only get one day of testing and that is next week in Hungary before the race, team manager Roger Lyrén explains.

But still the team feels confident. All the four drivers in the team are skillful and a good mix of youth and experience. The hopes are high especially for the 51-year old veteranracer Anders Abrahamsson who won the championship in the year 2006. But this year the Pro Stock-series have a lot of fast and competitive drivers and there are six or seven drivers who can win the championship.
– You can never take anything for granted in dragracing. We take step by step and start by qualifying and look forward from there. But on a good day all of our drivers have a good chance of doing some good results, says team manager Roger Lyrén.
Team VEIDEC are now doing the last minute check-outs before leaving for Hungary next week. The premiere takes place at the Kunmadaras racetrack in Hungary on the 30th of April. The European Drag Bike Championship consists of six events this year. Among them the VEIDEC Festival in Sweden at the Mantorp track in the end of July.
